WHAT: The 43rd ACLI CAPITAL CHALLENGE – This event is an invitational race for teams representing the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches of the Federal Government and the Media, plus special guests.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 14, 2025 

WHERE: Anacostia Park, Washington, DC.

START TIME: 8:00 a.m. 

COURSE: Flat, out and back three-mile course in Anacostia Park.

ENTRY FEES: Entry fees are non-refundable and all are donated to Junior Achievement USA to support its financial literacy programs for students across the nation. An additional contribution will be made by our sponsors to Junior Achievement. All race expenses are covered by the sponsors. 

BIB PICK-UP: Race bibs and safety pins can be picked up at the race site on the morning of the race between 7:00 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Please place the bib on the front of your shirt as it contains a chip used for timing and scoring.

RIDE SHARING/BIKING: If you take Uber or Lyft, the drop-off and pick-up spot is at the parking lot on Nicholson St. SE noted below by the black dot. It is about 0.5 miles from the start/finish line. If you bike to the course, Bike Valet DMV will watch your bike for you while you run. 

BAG CHECK: Bike Valet DMV will also check and watch your bag while you run. Click here for more information about the services they offer. 

SAFETY: Runners on teams should line up according to their expected mile-per-minute pace. Guest runners should line up at least halfway back in the starting pack. Because the race is held on a tight up-and-back course, team runners are prohibited from pushing baby strollers in accordance with safety guidelines. We also recommend against the use of an iPod or similar devices.

CELEBRITY RUNNER: Race participants will have the opportunity to meet, take pictures and run with Keira D’Amato, former U.S. record holder in the marathon and half marathon.

AWARDS CEREMONY: Enjoy refreshments, continental breakfast and an awards ceremony starting at 8:40 a.m.

SWAG: All finishers will receive the classic ACLI Capital Challenge T-shirt and a commemorative medal upon completion of the race.
